Our Impact

As a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization we focus our efforts and funding on improving the lives and well being of those in our local community. The funding we receive not only allows us to organize and facilitate the weekly markets that foster local commerce and relationships in the community, but also allows us to provide Free Educational Activities & Programs for kids, Free Market Yoga, Cooking Demos, Master Gardening Classes, Plant & Nature Walks, Resources on Conservation & Sustainability, Live Music and more.

We also give back to our farmers through the TRFM Farmer Fund.

We also support Food Access in our community through our SNAP-Doubling Fund, called TRFM for All, which gives $2 to spend at market for every $1 of SNAP-EBT redeemed. We also support WIC (Women Infant and Children), Senior Vouchers, and Healthy Bucks.

Farmers Market Seasons in Travelers Rest

The Travelers Rest Farmers Market first began in 2009 with a handful of local farmers and vendors, and was held in the parking lot of Sunrift Adventures. The TR Farmers Market then officially became designated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2014.

60+

Thousand Annual Visitors & Shoppers that attend the Market

From the familiar local faces that come on a weekly basis, to those visiting from out of town and experiencing the market for the first time - we stir up quite a bit of foot traffic throughout the year with more than 60,000 people attending the market during our 2023 season.

950+

Thousand Dollars Made by our Market vendors in 2023 alone

Not only is the market a place for community, fun and education - it’s also an important source of revenue for the local farmers and vendors that sell at the market, and other local businesses within the city. Our market helps numerous farmers, vendors and small business owners make a living doing what they love, and makes a direct impact on the health of our local Upstate economy as a whole.

LOVE TR Farmers Market. They have yoga at 8:30, which is just awesome. Tons of great food and produce, as well as local creations ranging from candles to tea to essential oils and more. Just wonderful. Highly recommended.
